Home Visits for Pregnant and New Moms
MCH visits
The Montgomery County Health Department offers two nurse-home visiting programs to pregnant women, new mothers, new fathers and their babies who might want a little extra help. They are: the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program and the Maternal-Child Health Home Visiting program, also known as the Title V program. Both programs are for Montgomery County residents and are FREE.

The Nurse-Family Partnership helps first-time parents succeed. Families develop confidence and skills for parenting and economic self-sufficiency by volunteering to work with a nurse home visitor from this proven program. Specialized nurses visit families regularly during a 2½ year period, beginning in pregnancy. The Nurse-Family Partnership achieves its goal by focusing on three clear objectives:
 • Fostering healthier pregnancies.
 • Improving the health and development of children
 • Encouraging self-sufficiency.

Who is eligible to enroll in the NFP program?
Any woman residing in Montgomery County who is:
 • Pregnant with her first child
 • Meets income requirements
 • Less than 28 weeks pregnant

 • Infant Care/Parenting Tips
 • Breastfeeding Tips
 • Home Safety Tips
 • Smoking cessation
 • Family Planning
 • Immunizations
